Welcome to the Granite Bay High School Football Season!

The Touchdown Club is the booster club for the GBHS football program and is run by parent volunteers.  The TDC is a sub-booster account under the GBHS Master Boosters, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  Our mission is to support GBHS Football program operations while keeping parents, players and alumni well informed.

As a football parent, you are a member of the Touchdown Club.  Member volunteers are crucial to the success of the GBHS Football program.  There are many ways to volunteer with a small portion of time.  On game days you can help with team meals, work in the Grizzly Grill, or be part of a set-up or take down crew.  Other opportunities include event chairs and committee members, including for our Season Kick-Off Party.  At minimum, every family is expected to work 3 volunteer shifts during the season.  Volunteer sign-ups will take place on your team’s registration night.

A primary responsibility of the Touchdown Club is fundraising.  We work to raise the difference between what the school is able to contribute and what is actually needed, financially, to run a successful, winning football program for your student players.  The Touchdown Club’s annual budget is approximately $170,000.  The Touchdown Club’s raises funds through the following:

  • Parent Donations
  • Grizzly Grill
  • Grizzly Wear
  • Banner & Advertising Sales
  • Personal Ads
  • Spirit Buttons
  • Season Seats
  • Season Kick-Off Party – Our main fundraiser takes place (TBD)

100% of fundraising dollars are applied to the Touchdown Club operating budget.

Thank you in advance for your support.  We hope that you will continue to support GBHS Athletics however you can.  If you have any questions regarding donations, fundraising or volunteering with the Touchdown Club, please contact one of our board members through our website at www.grizzlypride.com.

Player/Family COVID Letter

Dear Grizzly Players and Families,

I wanted to reach out to ask for your assistance.  In this ever-changing world of COVID-19, our need for transparency in our communications is essential in giving us the best opportunity for us to begin, continue, and finish a complete season.  Regardless of political and personal beliefs, the threat of COVID and its detrimental effects to our football season are very real and possibly final.  As we all know, this virus does not discriminate, nor provide preferential treatment for student-athletes.  While none of us are going to be the ones to cure COVID, we can do our part in its negative impact on our football season.

I am asking for your assistance in the area of transparency.  The daily forms that are required for the students to come onto campus are essential and required for us to be able to participate in our season.  They provide our district necessary information, vital for them to keep the schools and their programs running.  There is also a huge need for all of us to be upfront and selfless when reporting how we feel, as well as possible exposure to individuals that may be ill or be carrying the virus.  This process and transparency are vital in us being able to complete our season.

If one, or a few members of our team, come down with the virus, there is still a possibility that we will be able to continue our season.  The process of communication, followed by quarantining, allows the individual player to get the necessary rest and recovery for their own health, while protecting their teammates against possible transference.  My main job as the head football coach is to protect the safety and well being of the entirety of our players, and in this case, assist in doing so schoolwide, as well.

If you, or your child, feel ill, or believe that you have some in possible contact with a person that tests positive, or feels as though they have the virus, please fill out the daily form with that information.  If it is a better option, please reach out to me personally and allow me to assist you in the process of communicating the information to our administration.  Doing this assures us that we are doing our small part in keeping the hopes of our season alive.  As a parent and a football coach, I do understand how stressful these days are for us and our children.  It is my hope that we can work together in building this transparency to not only keep our children safe, but to keep them active, as well.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

GRIZZLY PRIDE!!!

Sincerely,

Coach Evans
